Back in the saddle again... or is it new year's resolution

All the same -it's January, and I'm trying to get back to the run, run, running part of my life. I have registered for the Portland Half Marathon in October, but plan on many runs between now and then.

This morning, I ran with my friend Sue McCurry at 6 AM (I can only manage that early, once a week) and we ran around Greenlake. It was 54 degrees, and I was wishing I was in my running skort (the best thing I have in my workout apparel!) Towards the end, we managed to catch up to the garbage truck. The good side of that is I picked up my pace to stay away from the "aroma" of the truck and pushed a bit harder to finish the loop. For the first time in awhile, I felt good. My 5 miler on Saturday morning in the 30+ degree wet fog, where I never really got warm.

New Year - new challenges. I'll keep you posted. For sure, next race is Feb 13th, the Valentine Day 5K (a short run... wow, has my vocabulary changed!)
